Welcome dreamers and readers!
I’m so excited to launch God-sized Dreams spring book club. Over the next couple of months, we’ll be reading Alli Worthington’s Breaking Busy: How to Find Peace and Purpose in a World of Crazy together. I don’t know about you, but my life is a little insane right now. Work, triplets, marriage, volunteering, and just getting out the door… Let me introduce you our book club with a few seconds of my week’s mayhem:
(Random facts: little bit is in a dress because we’re going to the ballet, but I’ve just finished work and have to make sure my people eat, and my boys think footballs go everywhere.)
I read this book in pieces on holiday car trips and work plane trips and each chapter holds nuggets of wisdom. Alli’s warmth and humor help deliver a message we all need to hear, but her genuine street cred as a God-sized dreamer should make us all pay attention. From launching her own business to giving it up to struggling with God in the midst of it all, this working wife and momma to five boys understands busy. This isn’t a book to send you joining a commune in nature. Instead, it offers insight into how to live in today’s busy culture without losing your head.
Each week, we’ll study two chapters. So I hope you’ll pick up a copy of Breaking Busy if you don’t already have one and join us next Thursday as we dive into chapters one and two.

This is me! I have two toddlers under 4 1/2 and am a stay at home Mom. I only get breaks if the kids nap. I have never worked harder in my life, but I really feel the need to break busy. I want to rest more and teach my kids it’s ok to rest. I am constantly doing something it feels like and I need to practice just being still which is so hard for me.

How can I just pick one area of my life that is busy. lol I work full time have a fabulous husband and 3 crazy busy children that we run all over the place for sports practices, dance class, school, church, tournaments. We are beyond busy. I can’t wait to break busy!!

I happen to be teaching in various areas of my church and hubby’s ship is increasing its time away vs at home. Throw in 3 kids and normal life stuff and it can get busy :-).

Break Busy sounds like a book that could make me slow down and enjoy every moment instead of trying to cram my moments with chores and “ought to do” things. I feel the need to rest and relax in God and not in being consumed by the need to have my home perfect or fill my days with endless errands. I hope this book delivers a message that will revolutionize daily living.

My schedule is busy. Two of our three kids are starting soccer, I work full-time, and go to college. Busy but I love it regardless and wouldn’t change a thing! 🙂
