I am living the greatest love story ever written because I am dating Jesus.
Huh? Did I just say I am dating Jesus? YEP!
I have fallen madly in love with Jesus. He pursues me with a vengeance. He does not let my mood swings, insecurities, or failures stop Him from pouring out His love for me.
He let’s me throw a tantrum and try to control things at times. He will even allow me to cuss Him out, but doesn’t take it personally. No matter what, He still tells me he loves me every day.
Jesus sends me love letters EVERY DAY. (<====Click to Tweet.)
Now that is romance unlike any romance novel I have ever read. The more time I spend talking with Jesus about my life, the more madly in love I fall for Him. He sends the best love letters known to man. No one can top a love letter from Jesus.
For His love letters are so personalized and so genuine that it makes your heart smile from the inside out. You can’t deny that Jesus loves you tons for He loves you with the smallest details. His timing is perfect because He rules over the heavens and earth. With just a word, He can move things into place and show His favor towards you.
Oh the romance is real and intimate. He is a jealous God for our time and our hearts. He seeks to be our first love. But He also will give us an earthly love. And if we allow Him to arrange that marriage, we are going to find an amazing man of God.
However, dating Jesus means we have to wait on His timing and enjoy the time we get to spend with our first love. I would rather spend hours singing praises, studying God’s Word, or praying to Jesus than going to movies or reading a romance novel.
The more time I spend with Jesus, the more I miss Him when my day gets really hectic or I have to cut my quality time down to just a moment.
Just as I would do with an earthly love, I invest in my relationship with Jesus on a daily basis. And when I honor Him with my whole heart, He seems to spoil me back with an unexpected love letter.
I will always cherish one particular love letter He sent me. It was so personal I knew it was from Him. As I was driving to drop off a package at the post office, I started to think about a dear friend and how much I wanted God to restore his heart from past hurts. I started to dream big and pray even harder for him as I was driving.
And then it happened – an unexpected love letter came down from Heaven. As I was driving, I came upon Lincoln Park. I saw my dear friend crossing the park, walking home at that exact moment. It was like the world had slowed down for a just a few moments and our eyes met.
I waved and smiled at my dear friend and kept on driving to the post office. The first words I uttered were, “Thank You God for my love letter.”
It was my dear friend’s day off, so he shouldn’t have been walking through the park at that time. I had planned on leaving work an hour earlier, but I was delayed. God made sure both of us were in the right place at the right time.
In that brief moment when our eyes locked, I knew that was a gift from God that day. God knew my heart needed that love letter right at that moment. That divine moment encouraged me to continue to pray for my dear friend daily.
God’s love letters make it easier for me to trust that my God-Sized Dream is safe in His hands. For God is into details. He sees me and loves me…and He sees you and loves you too.
I love dating Jesus! (<====Tweet this.)
